WellBound Class Descriptions 2011

All classes are held in our beautiful 1800 square foot group fitness studio with a suspended wood floor over foam padding for.  This floor feels wonderful on the joints!

Classes run 45 minutes unless otherwise noted.

Balance & Brain You can't build brain cells and improve your balance without the right exercises - this will improve posture, balance, flexibility/range of motion, decrease stiffness in muscles/joints AND create new brain cells!  Improve your gait and overall balance skills, and vastly decrease your risk of falling!

Boot Camp Sessions Let our strong (but nice) drill sergeants motivate, challenge, and help you get results no matter what age, size or fitness level. Circuit and interval training - many of our members have had great results with WEIGHT LOSS! Contact the front desk for dates/times/fees.

Brain Drills A fun and social setting for a friendly team competition of facts and trivia.  Join us for coffee and fun while we test our knowledge (or lack of) in a wide range of categories.

Total Body / Chair Combo Mostly seated combination of aerobics, strength, stretching, and balance!  A mix of all our classes in one fun workout.

CIA (Circuit/Interval Activity) A mix of cardio vascular exercise, resistance, lateral training, balance and stretching stations.  You will move from station to station in 1 to 3 minute intervals with fun music and social interaction.  This is a great way leap over the Wednesday hump!

Cycle Put excitement into stationary cycling with music and motivating instruction. Be sure to bring water and a towel and join us for workout!  If it is your first time, please arrive at least 10 minutes before class.  Burn major calories and strengthen and tone your lower body! Great for knee and back issues, and this is a closed chain, no impact workout that strengthens your lower body, core, heart, and lungs!

Gentle Yoga a wonderful class for stretching, joint mobility, balance and relaxation. 

Low Impact Rhythmic and fun, but easy on the joints, this workout increases aerobic capacity, endurance, coordination, brain function and metabolism. 

Pi-Yoga FLOW Like Pilates?  Yoga?  Not sure which?  Now you don't have to choose...get the best of both!  Great for core strength, balance, flexibility, low backs and abdominals with an emphasis on rhythmic movements to music in order to build coordination and stimulate brain function. 

Power Pump Three workouts in one: strength, aerobic, and balance.  The whole package!

Pump Just resistance training for the whole body. Yoga, Pilates, strength, core, and other resistance.

Smart Strength Brain Fitness Incorporating methods from the latest Harvard University research on creating new brain cells (neruogenesis) this class is a mix of exercise activities to keep you SHARP.  Seated but challenging! Our staff has completed accredited training specifically in the area of Brain Fitness through EXERCISE. 

Strength Training This class is ideal for seniors, people new to exercise, people who have been away from exercise for a while, or those who simply prefer an "easy does it" approach.

 Synergy If you want a baseline strength training routine or a refresher course, this is it! This 4 week program provides you with a trainer who coaches you in the safety and practice of your workout on the strength machines. Your instructor will teach proper form, breathing, posture, technique, and purpose of exercises.  Contact the front desk for dates, times, and fees.

Zumba Gold Fun Latin Dance based aerobics that is kind on the knees and back.  A modified version of the extremely popular and fun ZUMBA fitness class.
